302 Days Later

It’s been quite some time, eh?  I don’t need excuses because this is my blog, not yours.  Get your own damn blog!  Anyway, I’ve almost been back in Boone for a year coming up in December.  It’s great to be back up here.  The climbing is still killer and the seasons are still beautiful.  My career change has also been a move in the right direction.  I work with my dad at Boone Real Estate and have really enjoyed the change of pace.

Sometimes I lose motivation in things.  It’s refreshing to come back to my blog.  I think Trew’s journal and Purpur’s blog reignited my desire to share.  It’s easy to forget the day-to-day and a blog is a great way to keep up.  Besides that, facebook destroys image quality and to be honest I’m sick of the “likes”.  Although public, I find a personal blog much more intimate.  It takes just a bit more effort to land on this page.  You are here because you give a shit, not because you’re bored, standing in line at Wal-Mart scrolling through your news feed (guilty as charged).  Wow, this feels good!  Ok, enough is enough.

Oh, I almost forgot.  I took a mega whipper on Pope in a Cowboy Hat.  It was definitely one of the scariest falls I’ve ever taken.  Got a little beat up but it’s better than calling the ambulance.  Henry was the only one to spot me out of 3 or 4 people.  Spot your friends, don’t just stand there.

  1. Nice ones!

  2. Hi :)

I love your post, Matt! I can’t believe it has already been about a year since you’ve been back in Boone – I’m so glad you made that life change – you are so much happier now than you were in Columbia! Anyway, I love you and talk to you soon

    Love, Page

  3. Does anyone know how many animal control incprstoes there are and how much they are paid? I called there twice. Both times I was fortunate to have the inspectors in the office. Do they just sit and wait for a call? How do they operate? Seems like they could be driving through Seminole Heights or Sulfur Springs and stay busy full time.

  4. please DON'T launch the full release, it would be a very bad idea. the only extremely inconvenient part of it for me, though, is the inbox. i don't get why u guys think the new inbox is so much "easier" to manage. well, its not. DON'T go through with it!

  5. Sonia W.·Doing HDR & stitching images taken with the 50mm is not cheating, you’re just showing some initiative & illustrating what can be achieved with limited equipment.A very interesting exercise resulting in some excellent images.Yes, you could crop images to the same format but to do so would mean a heavy back-pack, wasn’t that something you set out to avoid this time around?I’m looking forward to the next instalment.

  6. Pasin, parabéns pela sua excelente explanação sobre o mercado de TI, demonstrando a atual realidade do mercado brasileiro, assim como você posicionou a Bueno Neto como um case mundial SAP, fazendo de uma maneira simples e objetiva.

  7. You know what, I’m very much inclined to agree.

  9. Many of these books bring back great childhood memories for me! I also loved Where The Red Fern Grows. And I could definitely use those toddler books you are giving away!

  10. It’s always a pleasure to hear from someone with expertise.

  11. Hi Luis, we completely agree with you that virtual events will not replace the power of face to face meetings. We believe they complement each other, allowing a pre-screening of potential leads, buyers, candidates, etc. And enabling much more effective personal meetings with cost and carbon emission savings. This is why we think that hybrid events will become an unstoppable trend in the near future. Thanks for your comment!!!
